The Ogden Valley Business Association and The Ogden Valley Winter Sports Foundation (Formerly the Snowbasin Ski Education Foundation)  are once again teaming up to host the Annual Snowdance and Auction on Saturday, November 21, 2009. The Snowdance is an elegant evening of entertainment and fine dining that has come to signify the kick-off to the ski season.  It will be held at Pineview Lodge at Wolf Creek, Utah.  Silent and live auctions, music, delicious fare from Harley & Buck’s renowned kitchen, and award winning programs and speakers will combine for what is always a memorable evening. The festivities begin at 6:00 PM.

This year’s theme “Building Future Champions” in honor of the upcoming Olympics, will feature interactive international food stations, and proceeds from the event will be used to support the new Ogden Valley Winter Sports Academy and further the goals of The Ogden Valley Business Association.

We are seeking donations of merchandise and services for our live and silent auctions as well as table sponsors and individual ticket sales for the event. Individual tickets are $75, premiere seating is $100 and tables of 10 are $750 and $1,000.

The mission of The Ogden Valley Business Association is to enhance the quality of life for citizens of Ogden Valley (including Ogden Canyon) through the promotion and development of community and economic resources including arts and culture, education, health and human services, tourism, and community services.

The Snowbasin Alpine Team is the racing organization of the Ogden Valley Winter Sports Foundation; a non-profit organization dedicated to the development of young ski racers. The Alpine Team provides a fun, yet challenging way for young men and women to improve their skiing and develop skills and discipline that will provide lifelong enjoyment from an active, outdoor life.

The OVBA is pleased to announce that Phil Maher, who many consider to be the greatest U.S. ski racer of all time, will be the guest speaker at the Snow dance Gala, the annual auction, dinner, and fund raiser for the Ogden Valley Business Association and the Snow basin Alpine race teams.  Maher won three consecutive Overall World Cup Championships, six total World Cup Championships, gold and silver Olympic medals, and gold and silver FIS World Championship medals.  He also had the most total wins in World Cup competition by a U.S. skier until Bode Miller passed him during the 2007/2008 season.

At the age of fifty-one, Mahre is attempting a comeback on the international ski racing circuit.  His early results have been impressive, and are chronicled in a feature article in the October 2008 issue of Ski Magazine.

The Snowdance is an elegant evening of entertainment and fine dining held at Earl’s Lodge at Snowbasin, and has come to signify the kick-off to the ski season.  Silent and live auctions, music from local favorites Shades of Gray, the always delicious fare from Snowbasin’s renowned kitchen, and award winning programs and speakers combine for what is always a memorable evening.

Proceeds from the event support the goals of The Snowbasin Ski Education Foundation and The Ogden Valley Business Association.
